My First Experience in IT industry

When I am writing this blog, I am exactly 4 months old in the hands of IT industry. As part of my post-graduation programme, I am doing 6 month internship programme in INTEL, Bangalore. INTEL, as the name value suggests, i was really happy that i got selected for my internship programme in INTEL(It was one of the happiest days of my life in college, I cannot forget that day. It was a great news at about 2 '0' clock that 7 of my classmates got selected. It was a double delight for one of my classmate Kiran Thomas as she got job offer from ANZ).
When i arrived in INTEL,Bangalore on November 21, 2005, i was delighted because of many reasons... infrastructure was excellent(the best one i have seen so far) and lot more. Four months have gone. It made to think how my experience was and how is it different from the academic institution.
The people that i worked with was really great and one thing it disappointed me was they didnot understand me much (probably due to thier busy schedule) and they treated me like a employee. They had experience of 15 years in IT industry and worked in various high end solutions.(may be they don't want to teach this little guy).
The moment i tell some one, that i am in INTEL for the internship, what an MCA graduate is doing in a chip manufacturing company?. Initially, I thought why they have this silly question? but it matters. I am involved in module which consists of the automation of manufacturing process and deriving certain results from it. You have to be a person who matters most to the company. But mine is a back ground process which is not so critical. Transformation from academic institutions to IT industry is not easier. You have to be innovative, always think of interesting and best options, and more important dedication and good attitude.
Overall it was nice experience and i am looking forward to work in TCS ( INDIAn based company which does most of the operations in INDIA, it makes me feel patriotic to work for an indian company). Current Innovatives or trends in the IT industry is AJAX(Google uses AJAX and python scripts for most of its web based development projects), SOA, SAP, BizTalk(Business Integration server). I learning a bit about this during my leisure time. I am searching for time so that i spend a little more time on this.
Looking forward for my career in TCS. One thing that comes to mind, when TCS is said, the
on-site oppurtunities are great and you get in a quick time.
